Jawline filler and chin filler in Rotterdam

A jawline filler is an injection of firm hyaluronic acid filler that sharpens the jawline; chin filler gives the chin more projection or a better shape. At Zalat Clinics in Rotterdam, the jaw and chin are treated by our BIG-registered doctor personally, with attention to the proportions of your whole face. The result is more definition and balance, without it being obvious that you have had something done.

What does jawline filler do, and chin filler?

For the jawline and chin, the doctor uses a firmer hyaluronic acid filler than for the lips. Such a gel has more lift and holds its position better, so it can support contours. Along the jaw it creates a crisper transition between face and neck; in the chin it adds projection or length.

A slightly receding chin often makes the nose look larger and the profile less balanced. A small chin correction can therefore make the whole profile more harmonious. Along the jawline, filler can restore definition to a slightly softened or indistinct jaw edge.

Fillers in the jaw and chin are broken down more slowly than in the lips. For most people the result lasts 12 to 18 months, sometimes longer. Jawline, chin and cheek filler is available from €250 per ml. How many millilitres you need varies greatly: the chin often needs 1–2 ml, the full jawline usually more. You will know this beforehand at the free consultation.

Who is it suitable for?

The treatment is suitable for women and men aged 18 or over who want more definition or balance in the lower face. Not during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and not with an active skin infection in the area. With marked skin laxity or a lot of fat along the jaw, filler can only help to a limited extent; the doctor will tell you honestly. Common reasons:

  • a receding or short chin
  • a soft or poorly defined jawline
  • early jowls (mild sagging along the jaw)
  • asymmetry between the left and right side of the jaw
  • for men: a stronger, more angular jawline

How does the treatment work?

  1. 01

    Free consultation

The doctor analyses your face from the front and in profile and discusses what is achievable. You receive advice on the number of millilitres and a fixed price, with no obligation.

  2. 02

    Preparation

The skin is cleansed and disinfected. Most fillers contain a local anaesthetic; numbing cream can also be used if needed.

  3. 03

    Treatment

The doctor places the filler with a fine needle or a blunt cannula, close to the bone, checking symmetry and profile throughout. The treatment takes 30–60 minutes, depending on the area.

  4. 04

    Free check-up after two weeks

After two weeks any swelling has gone and the filler has settled. At the free check-up we review the result together.

Aftercare and possible side effects

After treatment the area may feel tender and slightly swollen for a few days, especially when chewing or touching the jaw. A bruise is possible and usually fades within a week. You can ask the doctor any questions via WhatsApp.

Serious complications are rare. Very rarely, filler can block a blood vessel (vascular occlusion). The doctor knows the anatomy of the jaw and chin, uses safe techniques and knows how to treat this immediately. Contact us straight away if you notice increasing pain or pale, bluish or blotchy skin.

  • for the first 24 hours: no exercise, sauna or alcohol
  • no massages or facial treatments around the jaw in the first week
  • preferably sleep on your back for the first few nights
  • small irregularities in the first days are normal and are assessed at the check-up

Frequently asked questions

How much filler is needed for a sharper jawline?

It varies from person to person. For the chin, 1–2 ml is often enough; a clear result along the whole jawline usually needs more, sometimes spread over two sessions. The doctor gives specific advice and a fixed price at the consultation.

How long does jawline or chin filler last?

On average 12 to 18 months. Because this area moves less than the lips and a firmer filler is used, the result lasts longer. A top-up treatment often needs less filler.

Is the treatment suitable for men?

Yes. More and more men choose jaw or chin filler for a stronger profile. The doctor takes male facial proportions into account so the result does not look feminised.

Can chin filler replace chin surgery?

For a mildly to moderately receding chin, filler can be a good alternative without surgery or recovery time. With a strongly receding chin or a jaw misalignment, surgery is sometimes more appropriate; the doctor will discuss this with you honestly.

What if I am not happy with the result?

We discuss the result at the free check-up after two weeks. Because the filler is hyaluronic acid, it can also be dissolved if needed.
