Profhilo & skin boosters
Hyaluronic acid that spreads through the skin for more hydration, glow and firmness, without changing your face.
Biostimulators such as Radiesse and Sculptra are injectable products that stimulate the skin to produce new collagen, so over weeks to months the skin becomes firmer and lost volume gradually returns. The result develops slowly and lasts relatively long. At Zalat Clinics in Rotterdam, BIG-registered doctor Dr. Pravesh Gadjradj performs these treatments personally.
From around age 25 the skin produces less collagen every year. The skin becomes thinner and looser and the face loses volume. Biostimulators work differently from hyaluronic acid fillers: they do not only fill, they stimulate the body to build new collagen itself. The result is therefore gradual and natural-looking.
Radiesse consists of microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite in a gel. It gives some immediate volume and then stimulates collagen production; diluted, it can also be used to improve skin quality, for example on the neck. Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid and gives no immediate volume. It works through collagen building and is usually given in two to three sessions. Important to know: unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Radiesse and Sculptra cannot be dissolved. That is why we work with careful assessment and conservative dosing.
Biostimulators suit adults who notice early laxity or volume loss and want a gradual, longer-lasting result. They are not used in the lips or around the eyes. Not during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and not with an active skin infection or certain autoimmune conditions; the doctor will discuss this with you.
The doctor assesses your skin and facial structure and advises whether Radiesse, Sculptra or another treatment suits you best. You receive a fixed price and a plan for the number of sessions in advance.
The product is placed with a fine needle or cannula. Radiesse often contains a local anaesthetic; numbing cream can be used with Sculptra. A session takes 30–45 minutes.
After a Sculptra treatment you massage the treated areas at home for a few days, usually 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days. This helps the product spread evenly.
Two weeks after treatment the doctor reviews the result with you free of charge. With Sculptra, another session usually follows after 4–6 weeks.
Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common and usually resolve within a few days to a week. Right after Sculptra it may look as though volume has been added; this is fluid that disappears within a few days, after which the actual result builds up gradually. Rarely, small nodules form under the skin. If you have questions or concerns, you can reach the doctor via WhatsApp.
Radiesse (1.5 ml) costs from €350, Sculptra €499 per vial. How much product and how many sessions you need depends on your skin and wishes. The final price is agreed during the consultation. The consultation and the two-week check-up are free.

Radiesse gives some immediate volume and also stimulates collagen. Sculptra gives no immediate volume and works only through gradual collagen building, usually over several sessions. The doctor will advise which suits you better.
Radiesse on average 12–18 months, Sculptra up to about 2 years. This varies per person and depends on factors such as age, skin type and lifestyle.
No. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Radiesse and Sculptra cannot be dissolved with an enzyme. That is why we only treat after a careful consultation and dose conservatively.
With Radiesse you see part of the effect immediately. The collagen effect of both products develops over 2–3 months and can continue to improve after that.
