Profhilo & skin boosters
Hyaluronic acid that spreads through the skin for more hydration, glow and firmness, without changing your face.
Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments, usually derived from salmon or trout, injected into the skin to support its natural repair capacity. They are mainly used for thin or tired-looking skin under the eyes, fine lines and better overall skin quality. At Zalat Clinics in Rotterdam, BIG-registered doctor Dr. Pravesh Gadjradj performs the treatment personally.
Polynucleotides are chains of nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA. For aesthetic treatments they are extracted from fish and highly purified. Research suggests that in the skin they support the activity of fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen and elastin. They also bind moisture. The aim is not to add volume, but to make the skin itself firmer, thicker and more even.
Because polynucleotides do not add volume, they are particularly suited to delicate areas such as the skin under the eyes, where a filler is not always appropriate. The result develops gradually and is subtle: a fresher, more rested look rather than a visible change. It is a relatively new treatment; the scientific evidence is growing but is still more limited than for hyaluronic acid, for example.
The treatment is suitable for adults aged 18 and over who want to improve their skin quality. If you are allergic to fish or seafood, always let us know; in that case the treatment is not suitable. Also not during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
The doctor assesses your skin, discusses your expectations and checks for allergies. You receive a fixed price for the course in advance.
After cleansing, the product is placed in small amounts in the skin with a fine needle or cannula. A session takes about 20–30 minutes.
Usually 3 sessions are given, 2–4 weeks apart. The skin improves gradually during and after the course.
The doctor checks how your skin is responding and plans the next steps with you.
Small bumps, redness and mild swelling after treatment are normal and usually disappear within 1–2 days. A bruise can occur, especially under the eyes. Serious side effects are rare. For that reason, it is best not to schedule treatment just before an important event. If you have questions you can reach the doctor via WhatsApp.
Polynucleotide treatment costs from €229 per session. Because a course of three sessions is usually advised, we discuss the total cost in advance. The final price is agreed during the consultation. The consultation and the two-week check-up are free.

They are often grouped together, but they work differently. A hyaluronic acid skin booster mainly hydrates, while polynucleotides aim to support the skin's repair processes.
Usually 3 sessions, 2–4 weeks apart. After that, maintenance once or twice a year is common.
No. Because the product is derived from fish, we do not treat people with a fish or seafood allergy. Always mention this during the consultation.
They can make thin, translucent skin under the eyes firmer, so dark circles become less noticeable in some people. Circles caused by pigmentation or genetics usually do not disappear completely.
